After a week of some extreme heat and a few rescheduling dates because of the rain, we had an absolutely perfect evening for an engagement session. We met halfway at Caesar Creek Park and since Emilee & Cole were unable to plan a beach destination wedding, we had some beach engagement photos right here in Ohio! This session was so fun because it was different and of course I was thrilled their pup came along too! Here are some of my favorites from the session!
Rachel & Kyle's Wedding
I had the opportunity to photograph Rachel & Kyle’s engagement session in downtown Cincinnati. Even though I was already booked for their wedding day, I was able to still work with them by having one of my amazing associates photograph their wedding! Samantha and Rachel seemed like a great fit and after hearing about this day it sounded perfect! It was so incredible to go through these photos because I was able to see each part of their wedding day and how everything came together. This was so fun for me and I can’t wait to share some more previews with them today!

Brittany & Andrew’s Akron Wedding
Another very warm wedding in the books, but you honestly can’t even tell by how beautiful everything was for Brittany & Andrew’s wedding. I knew this day was going to be amazing after hearing everything Brittany had planned, which included bringing their pup Nala to take some photos! It was too hot for her to stay for the ceremony, but she wasn’t going to miss getting some photos with her parents before their big day! She was absolutely adorable in her little flower crown and I was loving every second of it. After sharing their first look and taking some portraits together, they had a beautiful ceremony and a perfect sunset. You can tell these two were so happy to be surrounded by their closest friends and family members. I am thankful to have been a part of this day and can’t wait to share more photos with them!

Danielle & Brandon's Cleveland Wedding
Even though it might have been one of the hottest days of the year, we had a beautiful indoor ceremony for Danielle and Brandon to say their “I do’s”. They were also married at the same church Danielle’s parents were married! After making things official, we strolled through downtown Cleveland for some photos and stopped to cool off with some beers at Butcher and the Brewer. We hit some unexpected traffic heading back to cocktail hour but were able to enjoy some tunes and playing heads up on the limo on our way back instead! I had an amazing time celebrating with these two and were so happy to see another Lindsey Zitzke Photography couple there as well!

Lauren & Mark 's Wedding at the Darby House
Even though we had a hot summer day for a wedding, we could not have asked for a more gorgeous outdoor ceremony at the Darby House. Surrounded by some beautiful greenery and nearby river, the shaded ceremony was perfect for this time of the year. I saw the engagement photos I took for Lauren and Mark throughout their home, where Lauren got ready, and printed for some of the details to the entrance of the Darby House. It is so much fun to see how my clients use these photos and it makes me so happy to see them hanging in their homes.
There was not a dry eye at the ceremony after Lauren and Mark exchanged their written vows to each other, (myself and my assistants included). I just love when couples share hand written vows and they had some of the best I’ve heard in all of my years photographing weddings. This day was so special and you can just see it in their eyes and smiles how happy they are with each other. I was so honored to be a part of their special day and I can’t wait to share these!

Exceptional Wedding Series V
I decided to start a new blog series this year showing some of my favorite things from each of the weddings I photograph. Since I love to focus on creating a unique wedding experience for each of my couples and pride myself on sharing their personalities in my photos, this blog series has been a great way for me to showcase these unique details. I am sharing something specific that stood out to me from each wedding which I thought was special to the couple. Something that stood out to me for Martha and Preston’s wedding day was the theme around birds in all of their reception decor. I loved this and thought it went so well with the venue they chose! Check out some of Martha’s responses to a few questions I had below.
What is the reason behind the bird theme?
Once we decided on the Audubon center as our reception venue I decided to continue the bird theme. We found bird cages that we thought would be great centerpieces, and we had a lot of fun decorating each one with a different bird. We loved the idea of each table being unique. Being an art teacher, I really wanted to add an art element so I painted birds for all of the table numbers.
What significance did this have and why was it so important to incorporate on your wedding day?
The birds we used were all native to Ohio birds. My husband and I love hiking the metro parks (one of the reasons why we choose our venue!) and we thought using birds you could find around Ohio would be a fun touch! It all just worked really well with the educational aspect of the Audubon center!
What’s your favorite bird?
We both love the hummingbird!
