Why Golden Hour photos for your wedding is a must!

Want to know one of my favorite things a bride can ask me before a wedding day? When should we plan out a time for sunset photos?

When working out a timeline for your wedding day, please make sure to incorporate a time to sneak away for some sunset photos. I promise you, it will be so worth it! Most of the time my favorite photos from my weddings are the ones taken during the golden hour. The lighting during golden hour just can’t be beat and goes really well with my style of photography. I have also noticed during this time my couples are much more relaxed and ready to have some fun. This allows me to have more creativity and capture those candid and fun loving photos.

Trust me, you won’t regret sneaking away for 15-20 minutes from you reception. I typically recommend planning this right after you two finish dinner. This allows the perfect amount of time to let the guest finish their food before any of the fun reception festivities begin. This way you won’t miss out on anything and most of the guests won’t even notice you have left! The general rule is golden hour starts one hour before sunset. Obviously, this can change due to weather, but this can give you a general idea of when to plan this.

Below are some of my favorite golden hour photos I’ve taken over the past couple of years and I can’t wait to plan many more!
