Kayla & Hunter Wedding

Wow do I have a soft spot for these two! They have been through a lot over the past few months and I admire them for so much for putting their love first over all of the obstacles they have faced. First with their venue shutting down and then a world pandemic, I am SO happy to they were able to still celebrate this special day together and it truly shows how strong of a couple they are. I am very grateful to have been a part of this journey with them and that my team was able to capture these special moments they can cherish forever. I can’t wait to continue following their journey as a married couple, and to patiently wait for baby G’s arrival! I am so happy for these two and know they have such a bright future ahead!

Taylor & AJ Engagement Session

Taylor and AJ wanted to have their engagement photos taken on their family’s lavender farm. Although the lavender bushes were not in full bloom yet, it was such a stunning property with many open fields and pine trees to choose from! It was so much fun running through the tall grass with them and finally meeting before their October wedding! These two are the sweetest and so much fun, I can’t wait to celebrate with them this fall!

Jordyn & Micah's Engagement Session

I’m really filling up my calendar over here with engagement sessions and I am not mad about it AT ALL. I was in Columbus the other week for this gorgeous photoshoot with such a sweet couple. Jordyn and Micah wanted some outdoor photos along with a few photos where they had their first date. I love when couples incorporate something special into their engagement photos and it really allows me to get creative. You’ll want to scroll down to see where their first date was, because this location was a first for me.

Amber & Mike Columbus Park of Roses Engagement Session

It feels so great to finally be back photographing engagement sessions. I am so happy my calendar is filled with these this summer and I can’t wait until all of my fall and 2021 weddings. It sure has been an interesting spring but I have witnessed some beautiful love stories.

Amber and Mike have been wedding planning for years now and I was so excited to finally meet them and capture their engagement photos. We had an absolutely beautiful evening in Columbus and had so much fun strolling through the Columbus Park of Roses. This is one of my favorite engagement session locations because it never disappoints! Check out a few of my favorites below from their engagement session.

What I'm doing during COVID-19 as a bride

Wedding planning can be stressful enough as is, but when you add a global pandemic into the mix, things can seem almost impossible to plan. I’m thankful I work in the wedding industry and already have an understanding on how to go about planning a wedding. I know there are many couples out there who may not be sure what to do right now, so I thought I’d share some things I’m doing during the COVID-19 pandemic as a bride. Obviously, everyone is at a different place during this pandemic, so make sure to do what is best for you! Below are 5 things I’m doing during this time…

  1. Reviewing contracts and keeping communication open with vendors.

It is so important to keep your vendors in the loop so everyone can plan accordingly. Vendors are trying to help all of their couples right now, and unfortunately there are only so many weekends they have available to potentially reschedule to. I would highly recommend starting communication early with your big vendors. Review all of your contracts and don’t be afraid to ask how they are handling this. What ever you do, don’t assume. Every business is handling this situation differently in ways that are best for their business, so ASK and see how it affects you!

  2. Plan together.

If you are still in the process of planning, this is a great time to actually sit down and make decisions together. Personally, I have taken the reins in my own wedding planning, however, I have used this time to enjoy a cup of coffee with my fiancé and talk through each decision together. Rather than dividing and conquering, you guys probably have more time now to discuss your wedding vision together.

  3. Find Deals

As a wedding vendor myself, I know many of us are offering amazing deals right now. Trust me in that you don’t want to be just sitting around during this time, vendors are looking to keep a steady flow of income and this can be a win-win for both parties.

  4. Create a vision board

Put those Pinterest wedding boards to use and create a fun vision board to help motivate and inspire your wedding planning. I am a visual person so I find this to be so much fun. This collage can be hung in your office space and makes for pretty art that can inspire you to get back to planning.

  5. Enjoy this time with your fiancé.

Aside from wedding planning, you can use this time to enjoy the engaged life and come up with fun date night ideas. Are there things you used to do that you miss? Bring those traditions back, or create some new ones! This is a unique time that we will probably remember for the rest of our lives, so why not try to make these memories great?

The Cheesecake Girl Product Photos

I’m so excited for one of my good friends who opened her storefront this week during this crazy time! This is so inspiring to me and I love how she did not let anything stop her, not even a pandemic. I am so proud of her and can’t wait to go visit myself and snap a few photos of course!

I have done many product and event photoshoots for Sam, (The Cheesecake Girl), over the years and thought I would share a little blog post of a few of my favorites photos in honor of her store opening. If you have not already, please do yourself a favor and go order a cheesecake, or literally anything off her menu. Everything Sam makes is top of the line and she’s known for her unique, (and boozy) flavors that she nails to perfection. My mouth is literally watering after going through some of these photos and I think I’ll need to make the drive up to Columbus as soon as I can to grab some!

Check out her page and order online here…
