Rachel & Charles Wedding at Jogensen Farms

What a perfect fall day we had celebrating Rachel & Charles at one of my favorite Columbus venues, Jorgensen Farms. This place is truly incredible in the fall and let me tell you, Rachel absolutely perfected the fall details. Everything from the red florals, lace sleeved dress, to the beer truck, were all of my favorite touches to this fall wedding. I had the pleasure of growing up with Rachel and was so excited when she asked me to photograph her wedding day! It is amazing seeing old friends and I feel so honored when I’m chosen to capture their special day. These two were making me tear up the entire day and I can’t wait to share some of my favorite photos with them!

Michaela & Addison Wedding at Crimson Lane

Michaela & Addison had an absolutely beautiful day for an outdoor wedding. Although it was windy, we had a perfectly overcast sky and gorgeous greenery everywhere! If you are still looking for a new wedding venue near Columbus, Ohio, I have one for you! Crimson Lane is STUNNING and there are so many photo opportunities right there on site! With some water in the backdrop, greenery, and a naturally lit white indoor reception area, this place is all you can ask for.

These two were so stinking cute throughout the entire day, and trust me when I say you will want to scroll down to see Addison’s reaction to Michaela walking down the aisle. His reaction was priceless and may have caused some tears in my eyes. Not to be overlooked is Michaela’s first look with her Dad. This too was pulling at my heart strings as did many other moments from their day. Although it was too cloudy for a sunset, we went outside with the string lights and took some more portraits. I had these two dance together under the lights and finally have some alone time on their wedding day to take everything in. I was so honored to capture these moments for them and loved to see another Lindsey Zitzke Photography couple in the bridal party too!

Below are some of the vendors that help made this day come together!

Exceptional Wedding Series

Since I am so focused on creating a unique wedding experience for each of my couples and pride myself on sharing their personalities in my photos, I thought I would start something new this year. After each wedding I want to share something specific that stood out to me from the day which I thought was special and unique to the couple.

I’m starting the series off with a great one from my first 2019 couple, Ali & Luke. After three years in the industry and working over 50 weddings, I have never seen this before and really loved the idea! Ali & Luke had these adorable Mr. & Mrs. aprons, (Amazon link below) which they put on right before dinner. They went behind the buffet tables and began serving their guests their food. I loved this idea so much, so I asked them a little more about why they chose to do this.

What inspired you to decide to serve the food to your guests at your wedding?

“The whole focus on our wedding, we wanted to be different. We planned for the marriage and the kind of wife/husband we wanted to be (counseling, praying, conversations, reading books) more than we planned for the wedding day, because that’s what it’s about right? Not to say, the wedding day isn’t important because making vows for life with someone is a big deal, but in our current “selfie” and social media “highlight reel” culture you can really get consumed with super high standards of the “perfect day,” large budgets, and lots of time and stress, then at the end of the day, it doesn’t really have any benefit to the marriage, for you or your spouse.

During our engagement, we talked a lot about showing grace to each other and serving each other as husband and wife. Even when you don’t want to. Rather than being worried about what the other is doing or most likely NOT doing, but loving the other well in how they need it. It’s the picture of how Jesus loves us... we are undeserving and flawed, yet He is devoted to us.

We were thrilled to exemplify that idea of servanthood. We didn’t want our wedding day to be just about us and whatever we wanted without concern of our guests. Just like how we would treat guests in our home, we serve and make our guests comfortable. How we love each other as husband and wife, is humbling oneself for the sake of the other: servanthood.”

Rachel & Charles | Highbanks Engagement Session

This was a special session to me because Rachel was a good friend of mine back in middle school and in high school. It is so fun to catch up with friends and even better to capture their engagement photos and soon to be wedding photos! These two wanted an outdoorsy feel and we sure got some gorgeous color at Highbanks Park. Rachel and Charles were in the moment which made it super easy to photograph! You can tell how much joy they bring to each other and how happy they are with the spilling laughs that happened every second! These two are just too cute for me to handle and I am so excited to be there to capture their love for one another. Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session!

Ali & Luke Engagement Session

I started off my Columbus engagement session marathon with a morning session with Ali and Luke. It was the morning after the time change so we had an extra hour of sleep and some brighter light, all of which I was thrilled about. Other than some chilly winds to start off the day, it was beautiful and overcast and an absolutely perfect morning from a photographers view!

We searched around Fred Beekman park for some colorful trees and we were pretty darn successful. Take a look at all the color from their engagement session and you will fall in love! We also had time to do some workout photos. You know me, I love anything unique and special to the couple, so I was all about it! I can’t wait for their wedding that is right around the corner is February!
